| 1/4 | teaspoon | salt | |
| 1/4 | teaspoon | pepper | |
| 8 | oz | tomato sauce, can | |
| 1 | each | carrot, sliced | |
| 2 | oz | mushrooms, can, stems and pieces | |
| 2 | tablespoon | onion, chopped | |
| 2 | tablespoon | olives, pimento stuffed, sliced | |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | sugar | |
| 1/2 | cup | water | |
| 1/4 | cup | wine, dry, red | |
| 1 | parmesan cheese, grated, optional | ||
Directions: | |||
| In saucepan cook ground beef till browned; drain off fat. Stir in salt and pepper. Add tomato sauce, carrot, mushrooms, onion, olives, and sugar. Stir in water and wine. Cover; simmer for 30-35 minutes or till carrot is tender, stirring occasionally. Sprinkle individual servings with parmesan cheese, if desired. Makes 2 servings. | |||
