| 2 | cup | semisweet chocolate chips, divided | |
| 2 | tablespoon | instant coffee powder | |
| 2 | teaspoon | boiling water | |
| 1 | cup | flour | |
| 3/4 | teaspoon | baking soda | |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | salt | |
| 1/2 | cup | butter, softened | |
| 1/2 | cup | sugar | |
| 1/2 | cup | brown sugar, firmly packed | |
| 1 | each | egg | |
| 1/2 | cup | walnuts, chopped | |

| Preheat oven to 350F. Melt 1/2 cup chocolate chips over hot water or in microwave. Stir until smooth; cool to room temperature. In small cup, dissolve coffee in boiling water; set aide. Combine flour, soda, and salt; set aside. In large bowl, combine butter, sugars and coffee; beat until creamy. Add egg and melted chocolate; mix well. Gradually add flour mixture. Stir in remaining 1-1/2 cups chocolate chips and walnuts. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350F for 10-12 minutes. Let stand 2-3 minutes before removing from cookie sheets; cool completely. | |||
