Maine Apple Bread Recipe
1/4 c Shortening 1 c Sugar 2 Eggs, beaten 2 tb Sour milk, with 1/2 ts Soda 2 c Flour 1 ts Salt 2 ts Baking powder 1 ts Vanilla 1 c Unpeeled red apples -chopped 1/4 c Chopped walnuts Cream together the shortening and sugar, add the beaten eggs and beat well. Mix the sour milk and soda together; add to the creamed mixture and then add the dry ingredients, vanilla, chopped apple and nuts. Bake in a greased loaf pan for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
